Pembroke Street Block Club (PSBC)

Location:
Pembroke Street is the most northern street in Swillburg.  Pembroke runs east to west parallel with the I-490 expressway.  This street has many smaller single family homes as well as a few multi-family rental homes.  It is a unique street because there are only homes on the southern side of the street.  Along the north side there is a 15’ strip of green space that is owned by New York State, but maintained by the residents of Pembroke Street.

PSBC Formed:
November 2004

Membership:
Membership meeting held once per year in November.  Dues are a $1.00 per household.

Grants Awarded:
($500) 2005 NeighborGood Grant through the Rochester Area Community Foundation www.racf.org
- Funded the beautification project around the trees on the north side of Pembroke Street

($300) Special CDBG Funding through Neighbors Building Neighborhoods Sector 6
- Purchase and installation of two dog poop bag dispensers to be mounted on 4”x4” poles with two hanging baskets on each

Projects & Events:
-Beautification projects on north side of street
-Swillburg Spooktacular – Halloween event is held on Pembroke Street with coordination help from the PSBC.
